Lawson Decides To Stay With Bengals
Manny Lawson has decided to remain with the Bengals.
Lawson started 16 games for Cincinnati last season, his first with the Bengals. He had 78 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
He spent his first five seasons in the NFL with San Francisco, which made him a first-round pick in 2006.
Oakland Adds Philip Wheeler
The Raiders have agreed to a one-year deal with unrestricted free agent Philip Wheeler to fill their void at starting outside linebacker.
Wheeler played 13 games for Indianapolis last season, making 80 tackles and recording one sack.
He played four seasons overall with the Colts with 182 tackles and two sacks.
"We're excited to add another veteran to complement our talented linebacking group," general manager Reggie McKenzie said. "He gives us a lot of athleticism and versatility. He's a player that can do a lot of things."
Antonio Garay Back With Chargers
The Chargers have agreed to a two-year contract with defensive lineman Antonio Garay.
The nose tackle started 28 games for San Diego the last two seasons and played in every contest. His 108 tackles, 8 sacks, 29 quarterback hits and 19 tackles for loss were by far the most among Chargers defensive linemen in 2010-11.
Garay, drafted by Cleveland in 2003, also spent several seasons with Chicago before signing with San Diego as a free agent Dec. 9, 2009.
Packers Get Hargrove To Upgrade Line
Free-agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove has agreed to terms with the Packers. Hargrove confirmed the agreement in a phone interview Thursday.
They targeted Hargrove to upgrade their defensive line, much as they zeroed in on Jeff Saturday to replace center Scott Wells.
Hargrove, 28, spent last season with the Seahawks and also has played for the Saints, Bills and Rams.
Bears Agree To One-Year Deal With Devin Thomas
The Bears agreed to terms on a one-year contract with WR Devin Thomas today.
Thomas joins the Bears after two seasons with the Giants (2010-11), in which he had 25 kickoff returns for 607 yards (24.3 ypr), three receptions for 37 yards (12.3 ypc) and eight special teams tackles in 20 contests.
During the Giants Super Bowl Championship run, Thomas had two fumble recoveries (including one that set up the game winning field goal in overtime of the NFC Championship at San Francisco) and one special teams tackle while appearing in all four contests for New York.

The 49ers agreed to a one-year contract with former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, a league source said Wednesday.
Jacobs is the second former Giant to join the 49ers this offseason, following receiver Mario Manningham, who signed a two-year contract last week.
Kevin Smith, Lions Reach One-Year Deal
Kevin Smith is returning to the Lions under a one-year contract.
Smith posted a message on his Twitter account Tuesday after finding out he would be back in Detroit.
"Just finished a great work out with frank gore, and Matt forte and just found out I will be back n the d next year. #imback," he wrote.
Smith, 25, rejoined the Lions during the 2011 season after not being tendered a contract during the offseason and helped to fill the void left when concussions derailed Jahvid Best's season and rookie Mikel Leshoure tore his left Achilles tendon.

The Rams have reached an agreement on a contract with Steve Smith, who spent one season with the Eagles.
Smith began his career with the Giants before signing a one-year deal with Philadelphia before the 2011 season.

The Vikings have agreed to terms with cornerback Zachary Bowman on a one-year contract, according to a source.
Bowman spent the last four seasons in Chicago. He intercepted six passes for the Bears in 2009.
